Employee Benefit Account Executive

Sandra is responsible for developing new business for Rooney Insurance Agency as well as retention of existing clients by providing excellence in service and overall management of select accounts.

Credentials

With over 32 years of experience in the insurance industry, Sandra joined Rooney Insurance Agency as an Employee Benefits Specialist in January, 1999. She attended The University of Tulsa and earned degrees in journalism and political science with a minor in business administration in 1976. She furthered her education by earning a Masters Degree in Business Administration in 1997 from Oklahoma City University. Prior to joining Rooney Insurance Agency, Sandra held various positions with other large insurance carriers in the Tulsa area including Metropolitan Life and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma.

While Sandra specializes in health insurance for larger companies, she is also knowledgeable in life, disability, and cafeteria plans in the marketplace. Sandra has experience in both fully insured and self-funded health plans. Rounding out her benefit experience, she also has her securities licenses and has particular expertise in 401(k)'s, defined benefit contribution plans, and other group retirement programs for commercial clients. She holds her Chartered Financial Consultant’s Designation through the American College as well as her Certified Life Underwriter Designation.

During Sandra's career she has obtained vast experience with organized labor. Sandra was the Public Relations Director for Oklahoma and Arkansas for American Income Life Insurance Company. American Income is the premier life insurance company servicing America’s Union families. In her role, Sandra promoted American Income to the Union heads of the various AFL-CIO unions.
